Ione Charlesworth Ross

August 15, 1928 ~ December 25, 2017

Ione Charlesworth Ross left this earth on Christmas Day, December 25, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 15, 1928 in Ogden, UT the daughter of Melvin S. and Arvila Odermatt Charlesworth.  Ione grew up in Ogden, UT and graduated from Weber High School.

Ione met and fell in love with Ali Eujean Ross while he was stationed at the Navy Supply Depot in Clearfield, Utah. They were married on May 10, 1947 in Ogden, Utah.  Ali and Ione raised 10 children.

She was a member of the Ogden Eagles #2472. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, quilting, and especially spending time with her large family.

Ione is survived by her 10 children, Ali Eugene (Marchia) Ross, Ogden; Rory Robert Ross, Roy; Val Ross, Roy; Lola Mae Ross Stevens, Plain City; Gloria Jean Ross (Don) Peterson, Ogden; Beth Ann (Chris) Peer, Roy; Emily Ross Abbott, Idaho Falls, ID; Arvila “Midge” (Dennis) Casper, Riverdale; Diana Ross, Layton; and Cheryl Ross (Steve) Finder, Malad, ID; 35 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and one brother, Rick D. Charlesworth.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, five brothers, granddaughter, Heidi Lynn Thomas; and great-great-granddaughter, Destiny Lyn Shurtleff.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
