Irel C. Nance

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Irel C. Nance, 86, passed away on June 23, 2014 in his home after battling health problems for several years. He was born November 16, 1927 to William Milo Nance and Carrie Elizabeth Ames in Cleveland, Idaho. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On April 2, 1953 he married Belva Criddle in the Logan LDS Temple, where he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his early years he worked as a farmer and a logger, and then once he moved to Utah and married, he worked for Utah Concrete and Pipe, and then RC Willey and retired in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, bowling, riding ATV’s, and motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife Belva, his three children, Kevin (Janet Abrams) Nance, Jolene Nance, and Gordon (Suzanne Bauer) Nance, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by William Milo Nance, Carrie Elizabeth Ames, and his sisters Elda Nance Smith and Janet Nance Kelso.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Cherry Village Ward, 2339 W. 1900 So., Syracuse. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffery DeGrauw, Community Nursing Services Home Health and Hospice, and Right at Home for all their services they have provided.
