Irene Farrer
OGDEN - Eunice Irene Erickson Farrer was reunited with the love of her life on Wednesday December 9, 2009.
Irene was born in Lewisville, Idaho on February 27, 1928 to Elnor E. and Eunice Harmon Erickson. Her school days were spent in Pocatello, Idaho. She married Lyle Dean Farrer April 15, 1947. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised three children. In 1947 they opened the A & W Root Beer Stand in Riverdale, Utah where they met many of their lifelong friends. She worked for Weber County School Lunch and later managed the Kar Kwik on Riverdale Road for many years.
After Lyle's death in 1983, she began many activities including square dancing and traveling. Irene was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Temple regularly. She loved baking, sewing, genealogy, and taking care of her animals. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially Sunday dinners with her grandson, Jared.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marta (Ken) Nimori, Dennis (Hetti) Farrer, Laurie (Rick) Errington, all of Ogden; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two cats and one dog.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, four brothers, one sister and one grandson.
The family would like to give special thanks to her neighbor Shirley Sirup and family for their friendship, love and support over the years.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 14th at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday, December 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 12:45-1:45 p.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
