Irene Kuba (Zacharezuk)

Irene Kuba (Zacharczuk) died unexpectedly on February 17, 2025, at her residence in Layton, Utah. She was born on August 22, 1940, and was 84 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden passing. 

Irene is survived by her husband Francis Kuba of 63 years, her children, Kenneth Kuba (wife Monika), Kathleen Carlson (husband Timothy) and grandchildren Cassiday Kuba (husband Alex), Ozzie Kuba, Zoe Kuba, Samuel Carlson, and Katherine Bremerson (husband Jacob). She is also survived by her brother Robert Zacharczuk (wife Carol). 

Irene was preceded in death by her parents Katherine (Kocur) and John Zacharczuk and brother Paul Zacharczuk. 

She was born in Elizabeth, NJ and later lived in Mississippi and Montana before making Utah her home. She worked at the IRS and was a civil servant at Hill Air Force Base. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidery, bowling, lunching with friends, traveling, and being part of the Gold Club. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. 

Irene was well liked by everyone, due to her positive energy. She was generous and giving and always made time to help others. Her legacy will carry on when we choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family on Wednesday March 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.  

A memorial service and burial will be held at the same location at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton at 11:00 a.m.
