OGDEN- Ireta Jaques Smith Taylor, 95, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008.
She was born May 6, 1912 in Layton, Utah to Emma Bybee and William Jaques. Ireta was the last surviving child of twelve.
Ireta married Virgil O. Smith on July 2, 1932. He died September 26, 1959. She then Married Lamar Taylor on March 21, 1965. He died July 21, 2002.
She was a member of the LDS Church, and was able to take out her endowments in October 22, 2002 in the Ogden Temple.
Ireta worked at Smith''s Food King , Hill Air Force Base, Defense Depot of Ogden and retiring from DDO.
Her hobbies included fishing and gardening, dancing and in her later years she enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz and working puzzles with her dear friend and companion, Cleone Linford.
Ireta is survived by her children Marlene Stark, So. Weber; Judy (Cliff) Kimball, Ogden; Kathy (Mel) Rhoades, So. Weber; Deon (David) Rasmussen, Ogden.
She has 18 granchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 28 great-great-grandchildren with 2 more great-great-grandchildren on their way.
Preceding her in death were a son, Gary Smith, son in-law, Reid Stark, 3 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Also preceding her are 11 brothers and sisters.
Family expresses special thanks to Breanne and Ashley Nalder for their special care.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
