Irven Charles Poll

Irven Charles Poll was born in South Weber, Utah on July 22, 1936, to Vern C. and Stella Poll. He attended Davis High School and married his sweetheart Barbara Ann on December 24, 1955, who he adoringly referred to as Mrs. Wiggins (from the Carol Burnett Show).

They resided and raised their family in Ogden, Utah, where he dedicated many years as a truck driver for Fife Rock Products and Commercial Carrier then later at Freeport Center as a security officer.

He was a strong man who worked hard and loved his family unconditionally. He lived life his way. He loved to garden, and the family enjoyed all the tomatoes, squash, salsa, and strawberries. He had many dogs over the years that he loved dearly, Benji, Tokey, Tuffy, and Mr. Sunny D. to name a few. He was a man who played hard and loved harder, a trait that is shown all through the family line. He and his wife Barbara enjoyed dancing, bowling leagues, camping, shuffleboard, classic cars, and family get-togethers.

The last few years of his life he shared many precious moments with his daughter “Ter Bear”, who he told everyone was his angel.

Irven is survived by his wife, Barbara (Hegland) Poll and their children, Rick (Brenda) Poll, Penny Wagner, Teri (Ken) Middleton, and Stacy (Jodi) Poll, 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern C. and Stella Poll; his 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He was welcomed home by his son, Rob Poll.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

We would like to thank Dr. Pasada, Dr. Lopez, and Dr. Goff, as well as the care and dietary staff at Ogden Regional Medical Center. In his words “I could not have asked for better care.”
