Isabell "Izzy/Iz" Barton

Isabell Pack Barton, 83, of Clinton, Utah, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2016 at 6:18 AM, just days before celebrating her 64th Valentine's Day with her sweetheart and husband, Fred. She quietly slipped from mortality after a short stay at Davis Hospital, near the couple's home in Clinton, Utah.

She was born on April 1, 1932, in Sugarhouse, Utah, the fourth of seven children of DeVar Marvale Pack and Irma Crockett Pack. Izzy was raised in Burbank California, where she met her sweetheart, Fred Denzel Barton, in 1950. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1951. After raising their seven children in Canoga Park and Newbury Park, California, she moved to Springville, Utah in 2000 to be near her grandchildren.

Izzy is survived by her devoted husband and caregiver, Fred; two sisters: Carol Pack Feddock and Irma Jean Pack (Jean); 1 half brother, George Johnston; eight children: Linda (Monty) Ellison, Christine (stillborn), Dan (Janet), Patrice (Roderick) Hunt, John, Steve, Matthew (Nancy), and Dawn; 27 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

Izzy led a full, rich, long, and rewarding life. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as counselor to Primary and Relief Society auxiliaries and served in many other callings. She also supported her husband’s church service in several Bishoprics and High Councils.

She enjoyed the outdoors, especially the beach. She loved music and worked very hard to give musical opportunities to each of her children. Izzy loved Broadway productions and attended many with her children while living in California. She was an exceptional seamstress, loved quilting, tap dancing, child care and had many other interests.

She will be greatly missed by her family as well as many other friends and associates.

Izzy is preceded in passing by her parents and four siblings: Varma Pack Clinger, LaDeane Pack Siegner, DeVar Crockett Pack, Rodney Brent Pack (Rod); and one grandson, Denzel Hunt.

Those of us she leaves behind now imagine her enjoying our shared belief of a warm, and long-awaited reunion with these, and many other, loved ones who preceded her.

We look forward to the day of reunion with our beloved wife, devoted mother, and special friend, in the not-too-distant future.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Clinton 10th Ward Chapel, 702 W. 1300 N., Clinton, UT. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Services entrusted to Lindquist's Layton Mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.

A luncheon for the family and friends will be held at the Clinton church building after the cemetery services.

Loved, and missed. Never forgotten. Carried in our hearts and memories, for now; 'Until we meet, again'!
