Ivan D. Kamp
NORTH OGDEN – Ivan Dale Kamp, 71, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born December 1, 1936 in Elgin, Illinois, a son of Arthur Albert and Leota Mae Kania Kamp.
Ivan married Sandra Louise Hattendorf on August 22, 1959 in West Chicago, Illinois. She died October 10, 1993. On May 4, 1991, Ivan married Sharen Ileene Huff in Fort Worth, Texs.
He grew up in Illinois and also lived in Texas. He was stationed in Germany while serving with the U.S. Army. He traveled throughout Europe and later settled in Utah.
Ivan was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
He was an engineer for Lockheed-Martin working on the F-16 project which he helped design.
Ivan loved his family, especially being a granddad. He loved family vacations, baseball and the NASA Space program was his passion. He also enjoyed computers, travel, photography and cooking.
Surviving are his wife Sharen of North Ogden; five sons and one daughter, Tim (Kelley) Kamp, Gilbert, AZ; Mark (Mary) Kamp, Ogden; Mike (Julie) Kamp, Fort Worth, TX; Monte (Poppy) Benavides, Brigham City; Chris (Rebekah) Benavides, Menifee, CA; Shari Shoultz; Fort Worth, TX; and 13 grandchildren, Jeff, Chuck, Brad, Brianna, Gabby, Amari, Austin, Sabrina, Coren, Sabastien, Durham, Ryan and Taylor.
Also surviving are his cousins, Jean Goodwin and Carol Stafford, both of Elgin, IL.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Sandra, and a grandson James.
Funeral services and inurnment will be held at a later date at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth, Texas.
Cremation under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
