Ivie “Ruth” Ottley Wright
KAYSVILLE – Ivie “Ruth” Ottley Wright passed away Thursday, 2 August, 2007.
Ruth was born 27 July, 1933 in Elko, Nevada to Leonard Peter and Ivie Taylor Ottley.
Ruth was raised in Carlin, Nevada, where she attended grade school and high school. She was valedictorian of her graduating class and was invited to go to Kansas City, Kansas for Girls State. Ruth graduated from BYU with a degree in English and Elementary Education. After college she was teaching school in McGill, Nevada where she met her Mr. Wright. Ruth and Jess were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on 3 June, 1957.
Ruth was a devoted and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in the ward and stake.
She is survived by her husband Jess, daughters Wendy and Becky, sons Berk (Shannan), Leonard (Ashley), Trent (Amy), 11 ½ grandchildren, sister Renae Paxman, Idaho Falls, ID.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister Maxine Humphreys, and daughter Stacie Joy Wright.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 4 August, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 2nd Ward Chapel (Rock Chapel), 25 South 200 East. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
