J. Brent Edward

J. Brent Edward, of Peachtree City, GA, passed away July 23, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Ogden, Utah, August 19, 1936, to the late John B. and Donna M. Edward.
Brent was a graduate of Brigham Young University, Class of 1958, with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics. While at BYU, he was a member of the rodeo team, his specialty being bareback and bull riding.
After graduation he went to Navy Flight training in Pensacola, Florida. Having graduated at the top of his class, he was given the honor to select which aircraft he wanted to fly. He chose the F8 Crusader, the Navy’s first supersonic jet fighter. He was an avid pilot, serving his country as a Navy Reconnaissance pilot.
Brent was sealed to his sweetheart and love of his life, Judy R., in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, in 1965. They were the best of friends and enjoyed each other’s companionship immensely.
He was working as an Aviation Safety Inspector with the National Simulator Program, for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was retired from Northwest Airlines, after many years flying in corporate aviation.
Brent is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy; sons Brent M. (Whitney) Edward of Boise, Idaho, and John B. (Jennifer) Edward of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Leslie M. (Kurt) Bartlett of Spring Hill, Tennessee; 7 wonderful grandchildren, Mackenzie, Abigail, Brooke, Gunnar, Stirling, Derrik and Max B.; and brother Ross (Jeanette) Edward of Leonardtown, Maryland.
Brent loved his family above everything else. His spare time was spent leisurely traveling, enjoying the history of each country he visited, reading, and framing art collected during his travels.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 1, from 12:30-1:30pm, at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary,3408 Washington Blvd.,Ogden, Utah. The funeral service will take place immediately following at 2:00pm.
His final resting place will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
