J. Edward “Ted” Freestone
J. Edward “Ted” Freestone passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. He was a loving husband, father, step father, grandfather and brother.
Ted was born February 13, 1920 in Ogden to Joseph V and Myrtle Young Freestone.
He married Evelyn Parkinson July 15, 1941. She passed away December 30, 1960. In April of 1975 he married Lorraine Nasfell.
Ted worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 45 years retiring as a conductor in 1985. Following his retirement from the railroad he was employed as a greeter at Wal-Mart for 10 years, a position he loved because it gave him an opportunity to meet and talk with so many people.
He served in the European theater as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II and was proud of his service to his country.
Ted is survived by his wife Lorraine and five children, Edward B. and Carol Freestone, Claudia and Theron Haddon, Janice and LaMar Kalian; stepsons, Michael and Penny Hewitt and Frank and Susan Hewitt as well as seventeen beautiful and greatly loved grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; and one brother, Donald J. Freestone and his wife Norma of Citrus Heights, CA.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
