Jack Warren Brown
LAYTON – Jack Warren Brown, 95, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010. He was born October 27, 1914 in Lamar, Colorado, the son of Earl E. and Phrona Peake Brown. He was raised in Eagle Rock, California, graduating from Eagle Rock High School. Jack received a BA from Pittsburg State University.
Jack married Dorothy Willis Brown on August 21, 1937 and they spent a one-year teaching sabbatical in Budapest, Hungary and taught school in the Los Angeles School District for 35 years. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2008.
He was a member of the Catholic Church. He loved to fly and spent the summers flying and prospecting in Alaska and Honduras. After his retirement he had a successful career modeling and playing Santa Claus.
Survived by two sons: Robert T. Brown, Layton; and Larry M. Brown, Northridge, CA; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, five sons and one daughter.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 11a.m at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.
