Jack David Edsinger

West Haven, Utah.

Jack David Edsinger, 75, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 7, 2016.

The son of Kenneth Wayne and Doris Grace Edsinger, Jack was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on August 28, 1941.  He attended schools in Ohio and graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah.  He went on to graduate from Stevens Henagar College.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1959 thru 1963, during the Berlin Wall Crisis.  He attended basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas and served at Keesler AFB, Mississippi, Fort Custer, Michigan and Chaumont, AB, France.  After Jack was honorably discharged from the service, he met and married Barbara Jean Biddle on December 4, 1964 in Clearfield, Utah.  They were blessed with four children, Brian, Craig, Lisa and Scott.

Jack worked at both Sperry Univac and Mountain Bell Telephone.  He then worked at Hill AFB from September 1979 until February 1993, where he retired as a Range Control Officer.

He served as a Scout Leader, was active in his church all of his life, serving as a commission member, financial secretary, council vice-president and president.  He enjoyed playing golf and woodworking in his shop.

Jack is survived by his wife, Barbara, West Haven, UT; his brother, Ron, Ogden, UT; his four children, Brian (Kim and Kristen) Edsinger, Port Hueneme, CA; Craig (Casey) Edsinger, Plain City, UT; Lisa (Craig) Butts, Plain City, UT; Scott (Taryn) Edsinger, Ogden, UT; and eight beautiful grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two step-fathers, Don C. Miller and Charlie McElyea.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 1105 North Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah  84404.  Family will meet with friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Huntsman Cancer Institute
