Jack Ray Garder, 69, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. He was born on April 2, 1946 in Ogden to Floyd and Hazel Harris and Garder.
He married Carol Linda Swift on October 26, 1962 in Ogden, Utah. Carol passed away on February 8, 2002.
Jack served two military tours at Ft. Greely, AK, Richmond, VA, Southern CA, and WA. Once he discharged from military service he moved back to Ogden, UT.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and active as a child.
Jack worked as a logistic specialist at Hill AFB from 1976 to 1993 and a warehouse manager for the Utah State School for the Deaf and Blind. He also sold used cars.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, and old sports cars. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his son, Jack Garder Jr, Ogden; daughter, Jackie Lynn Atencio, Layton; two grandsons, brother, Paul Garder, Syracuse, NY; and sisters, Glenda Garder, Clinton; Joyce Coy, Farr West; and Betty Brown, Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; granddaughter, Michelle; infant son, Floyd; mother, Hazel; father, Floyd; and brother, Floyd Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
