Jack Meyer Horting, age 84, passed peacefully away at home on May 18, 2019. Born on Feb. 11, 1935 to Guy and Ella Bear Horting in Filer, Idaho, the youngest of six. Graduated from Richfield (Idaho) High School in 1953 and joined the US Air Force that fall.
He married Sharon Rae Tripp in Salt Lake City on June 5, 1958 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. They resided in Layton, Utah for most of their marriage, and celebrated their 60th anniversary in June 2018.
Jack retired from Hill Air Force Base after more than 30 years, working as an aircraft electrician, and later a maintenance scheduler. After retirement, Jack spent most of his time at their recreational property near Lava Hot Springs. He enjoyed motorcycle and ATV riding, camping and traveling across the west with family and friends.
Jack is survived by three children, Christine (Doug) Jones, of Redmond, Oregon; David (Jackie), of West Haven; Andrew (Krista), of Eden; and three grandchildren, Nathan, TJ and Johanna. Preceded in death by his parents, a sister (Margaret), and four brothers, William, Thomas, Harold and Robert.

A private family service will be held on May 24, 2019.
