JACK DAILEY KELLEY
1935-2015
Jack Dailey Kelley passed away peacefully February 20, 2015 with his loving wife by his side, next to the river he loved to sit by. Jack was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 16, 1935 to Rado and Lucile Kelley. He married Gayle Healy on Halloween, 1959 and they enjoyed a 56 year love affair. Jack worked many years in the Utah grocery industry and worked most of those years as the head buyer for Smiths. Jack got up early and worked hard every day – always taking pride in a job done not just the right way – but better than the right way. He was a long time resident of Roy, Utah. Jack served in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. He was an amazing water skier and spent many enjoyable summers with his family on Utah’s lakes. He was strong – but so gentle that he could coax wild birds to perch on him.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Kelley, son Mike Kelley (Pam), granddaughter Madeline Kelley and brother Wayne Kelley. Preceded in death by son Pat Kelley. Special thanks to the staff of Legacy House of Bountiful and Hospice for Utah for their care and support in Jack’s final days. Jack, Pop, Poppy – we love you.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25 th at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment Elysian Burial Gardens. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
