“Papa Jack”
FRUIT HEIGHTS, UTAH – Jack Donald Lynch, 76, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 to rejoin his beloved wife, Edith, one day prior to their 56th wedding anniversary.
Jack was born December 26, 1931 in Ogden, Utah, son of Mack Thomas Lynch and Ruth Nerden.
Married Edith J. Wilson on April 20, 1952 in Elko, Nevada; later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 30, 1954.
He graduated from Ogden High School in 1950 after which he served in the U.S. Naval Reserves.
Jack was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various positions, including many years in scouting leadership.
Jack was employed at Litton Industries and E-Systems as a machinist and Director of Quality Control.
He was a dedicated father and grandfather, always there for steadfast support and leadership by example. He was an enthusiastic trap-shooter for many years and an avid fan and supporter of Davis High Wrestling. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and particularly fishing with his family.
Jack is survived by his sons, John M. (Cathy) Lynch, D. Patrick (Clare), grandchildren, Jay Anne Marx, Erin L. Coleman, Dawn Danielle Lynch, Ben Lynch, and Josh Lynch, and great-grandchild, Seren Marx.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, brother, James; and sister, Shirley.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 08 at 11 a.m. at the Fruit Heights 5th Ward, 24 South Country Lane, Fruits Heights. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Utah Alzheimer’s Center.
