SOUTH OGDEN a€" Jack Henry Noorda, died Friday, May 7, 2010.

He was born November 23, 1924, the son of Henry and Marie Bernards Noorda. He was raised and educated in Ogden. He graduated from Ogden High in 1942. Later in life he was instrumental in organizing future class reunions for the class of "42", which he enjoyed doing. He attended Ogden Business College while working for the U.S. Postal Service. In 1942, he joined the U.S. Army and served 36 months during W.W. II in the South Pacific on Peleliu Island. When discharged, he enlisted in the Utah National Guard serving as a Unit Administrator and then as a personal Technician Officer. He retired with over 38 years of military service at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer IV. He also worked for a period of time at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

His hobbies were bowling and golf, especially golf, at which he excelled at an early age by winning the Jr. City Championship Tournament when he was a teenager. He went on to win many other tournaments.

Jack was a kind and gentle person and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

On October 14, 1950, he married Josephine Pagano. They were married for 59 years.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Nancy Jo (Dean) Favero and Lisa Ann Forsgren; four grandchildren, James (J.D.) and Amanda Jo Favero and Dustin and Alyssa Forsgren.

Also surviving are one brother, Glen (Blanche). Three deceased sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may visit with the family at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded.
