Jack J. Ricks
CENTERVILLE - Jack J. Ricks, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009.
He was born June 11, 1923 in Logan the son of John Allen and Eva Katherine Neuffer Ricks.
Jack married Margaret Emma Gallacher on October 25, 1945 in Salt Lake City.
He served in the Marines during World War II.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jack was a master electrician for the Railroad and Defense Depot in Ogden. He was the foreman of the electrical shop and retired from the Defense Depot.
He loved horses and spending summers at the farm of his Aunt Blanche and Uncle Ned. He enjoyed golfing, watching football, collecting old coins, pheasant hunting and fishing. He was very interested in police work and served for a time on the Centerville Police Force. Jack loved and enjoyed his family very much.
Surviving are his wife Margaret G. Ricks, son, Jack A (Cynthia) Ricks, daughter, Kathryn (Wayne) Balle, son-in-law, Denny (Joyce) Randall, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanie Randall.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Centerville 5th Ward, 270 No. 300 E. Friends and family may call Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 No. 400 E. and Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
Interment, Centerville Cemetery.
