Jack Stephens

1934 – 2014

Jack Stephens of Kaysville, UT passed from this world into the presence of his creator on February 7, 2014.

Jack was born September 25, 1934 to Mervin and Erma (Perkins) Stephens and lived his life surrounded by his family in and around the Kaysville area.

In 1957 Jack married Patricia Grady.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Bountiful LDS Temple.  Jack and Pat built their home in Kaysville and together they raised three children; Todd (Kris) Stephens of Mountain Green, Jackie Bowman of Kaysville and Johna (Dane) Hewitt of Puyallup, WA.

During his career Jack was a highly skilled heavy equipment operator and contributed to the construction of many of the roads and highways that we drive on today.  In his free time Jack was a meticulous gardener and took great pride in keeping his home and yard in immaculate condition. One of Jack’s greatest delights was spending time with his grandchildren.  Jack loved to see his grandchildren having fun and he always looked forward to his next trip with them to the Lagoon amusement park.

In his later years Jack turned his pursuits toward his spiritual life and became an active follower of the lord through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother Lowell (Luain) and is survived by his sisters Bonnie (Claude) Dahl, Linda (Craig) Whitesides and his brothers Layne (Carol) Stephens and Var Dell (Terrie) Stephens.

Jack was happiest when surrounded by his extended family which included nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Together we rejoice in the coming day when we will all reunite with Jack in the house of the lord.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Crestwood Stake Center, 855 E.
