Jackalyn Oviatt Hood

Jackalyn Oviatt Hood passed away March 30, 2014 in Clarkston, WA; after a valiant fight with cancer.

She was born September 25, 1943 in Price, Utah to Rex and Sylvia Arnold Oviatt.  She grew up in Price, Utah and resided there until she married.  She resided in Layton, Utah until 2003 when she moved to Clarkston, Washington.

She married Edgar (Jim) Hood on March 21, 1964.   He passed away September 14, 2000.  She later met her companion Dan Jones in Quartzsite, AZ.

She is survived by her children Jeff Hood, Shane (Roxy) Hood, Jodi (Dave) Davenport, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, companion Dan Jones, sisters, Roxie (Mel) Huntington, Anna Oldson, Betty Thayne and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Maureen Petersen, Janet Stevens, Gwen Oviatt and her parents.

She enjoyed quilting, reading, playing cards with her friends, and spending the winters in Quartzsite, AZ.

The family would like to thank Dan Jones for the love and care given to our mother.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Saturday from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
