Jackie L Cutler

Jackie L. Cutler, 84, a long-time resident of North Ogden, passed away peacefully of natural causes at The Auberge on Monday evening February 13, 2023.

The second daughter of Adolf and Elizabeth “Ruth” Hansen Hieb, Jackie was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on April 7, 1938. She graduated from Roberts High School in 1956.

Jackie met and married Alvin Cutler, the love of her life, in Pocatello, Idaho. Jackie and Alvin raised their two lovely daughters in Idaho and primarily in Ogden, where they settled in the early 1960s. Jackie and Alvin enjoyed 50 years of marriage prior to his passing late in 2008. Since that time, she has devoted herself mostly to her family.

Jackie enjoyed gardening, collecting vintage glass, and raising her family, particularly her grandchildren, which are more fun! Reading with her family was one of her favorite pastimes.

She was hired as a secretary for Weber State College and later Weber State University. Through her hard work and dedication, she retired as a Scholarship Administrator in 1998

Jackie is survived by her daughters, Echo A. Cutler, North Ogden and Penny (Dale L.) Hanzlik, Harrisville; granddaughters, Holly (Victor) Valadez, Georgetown, TX; Amber (Chris Gonzalez) Richardson, Pflugerville, TX; Joseph B. Hanzlik, Harrisville; four beautiful great-grandchildren and her little four-legged best friend, Baby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; parents; and siblings, Marlene (Chet) Bailey, Charles (Sandra) Hieb, and Donald Hieb.

The family wishes to express our thanks to Auberge Memory Care for their attention and care and to Elevation Hospice, particularly Jacoy and Cindy, who took extra care of her in her final days.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
