Jackie Dean Hickman "Junk Yard Jack"

Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend Jackie Dean Hickman, 80, passed away on December 7, 2012.

He was born on January 30, 1932 in Dexter, Missouri, a son to Morgan Ernest and Myrtle Bell Hall Hickman. He was raised and attended school in Missouri until he joined the Army and served his country in the Korean War.

Jack later married Mildred Smith and together they had four lovely daughters, one wonderful step-daughter, and one son. They later divorced.

He worked as a handyman all his life and owned and operated Jack''s Auto and T&J Auto. He was a friend to all and was known as "Junk Yard Jack". He could build just about anything, including go-carts which he raced, winning many trophies. He loved snowmobiling and others proclaimed him as a "Snow King". He was the first to build a sled with two motors. He was a true craftsman. He was also an artist and we will cherish his memory in his artwork.

Dad liked things straight forward, and told it how it was. He was known for saying, "I''ll tell ya once, I''m not gonna tell you again, you better listen."

He is survived by his daughters Connie (David) Kerbs of Roy, Trina (Jim) Worthington of Beaverdam, and grandson, Jake (Kristen) Jones whom he cherished like a son; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, son Ervin, daughters Tona and Ronyce and step-daughter Melanie Rae; brothers Bud, Speedy, and Paul; and sister, Carrie.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Ogden City Cemetery. Family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

A special thanks to John for always being there and to Scott and Dan for keeping track of our dad. Also, to all the Hospice nurses and doctors for the care they gave to Dad.
