Jacob Carter Atkinson

Our sweet little baby, Jacob, returned to his Heavenly Father peacefully in his mother and father''s arms at Children''s Hospital a€" Boston on Monday, September 15, 2008. His bright blue eyes lit up this world if only for a short time, but the effects will last forever.

Although his little heart was extremely sick no would have known based upon his beautiful and contagious smile. He was our little fighter and we are so blessed for every minute we were able to spend with such a wonderful little boy. The hearts and lives that he touched and changed in under three months is more than most of us will accomplish in a lifetime.

In so many ways Jacob saved his family and gave us the will to endure through the difficulties of this life so that we may be a family eternally. He fulfilled his mission on earth and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. We take great comfort in knowing where he is and that he is waiting for us. His message of love will last forever. He reminded all of us to remember what truly matters in life and to never take those we love for granted.

We would like to thank everyone who prayed and fasted for Jacob. It was inspiring to see the spiritual community band together despite differences to offer thousands of prayers across the world.

Jacob was born to Erin (Killian) Atkinson and Justin Atkinson of Clinton, Utah on June 25, 2008.

He is survived by his mother and father, his sister, Melaina, his grandparents, Bruce and Gera Killian, Richard Atkinson, and Susan and Marty Hamblin, and his loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Children''s Hospital in Boston that fought so hard to save Jacob''s life.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Friends and family may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
