JACOB TRUJILLO

February 1, 1953-April 22, 2017

Jacob Trujillo passed away with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.  Jake was born to Clodoveo and Criseria (Leyba) Trujillo.  He attended Layton High school and graduated with a bachelor degree from Weber State.  Jake married Becky Belliston and later divorced.  He was employed at Weber Basin Job Corps until his retirement.

He was an amazing father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.  His family and friends were his world.    Jake possessed an incredible combination of wit, intelligence, laughter, athleticism, passion and above all - heart. Everyone who met him found a friend as he had a special ability to connect with people in a deep and positive way.  During his working years, his dedication to service was unparalleled. He was an extraordinary mentor to many at all stages of his life.

He is survived by his sons, Troy (Carrie) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Travis of Cleveland, Ohio; siblings, Cris (Robert) Sandoval, Floyd (Louisa) Trujillo, Irene Rodriguez, Mary Jo (Patrick) Fresques; sister-in-law, Glenda Trujillo.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Clodoveo and Criseria; his brother, Jesse; and brother-in-law, Teddy Rodriguez.

Friends may visit with family Thursday April 27, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m.  Vigil will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Rd.  Layton.  Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday April 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church 210 South Chapel Street.
