Jacqueline Neilson Malnar "Jackie"
LAYTON - Jacqueline "Jackie" Neilson Malnar passed away at home on Sunday morning July 3, 2011. She was born in Roosevelt, Utah on September 3, 1941 to Marvell C. Neilson and Oleta Marie Reef Neilson. She is survived by one sister, Beverly Neilson Iorg (Robert), Mountain View, Wyoming. She graduated from Union High School in 1959 where she was president of the pep club. She married her high school sweetheart, Glendon Keith Malnar, on September 18, 1959. Jackie and Glendon moved to Salt Lake City while Glendon attended the U of U on a football scholarship. They had four children together, Keith L. Malnar; Teresa (Brent) Ward; Don R. (Lori) Malnar; and Lisa (Ted) Grosgebauer. Jackie had 8 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jackie loved flowers, gardening, and enjoyed many years at Pinea Greenhouse where she had many friends. Her greatest talent was her selfless devotion to raising her children and she was one of the last of a breed of homemakers and a talented cook. She was known by all the neighborhoods kids as a terrific scary story teller. Jackie was a member of the Fruit Heights 6th Ward.
God saw Jackie was getting tired and a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around her and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched them and saw her pass away. Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. Her golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the BEST.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Carl R. Gray of the Huntsman Cancer Institute and his wonderful staff and nurses for their loving care and compassion for Jackie.
