Jake Joseph Decker

Jake Joseph Decker, 27, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012. He was born on May 19, 1985 to Garren J. and Kayla Mann Decker in Ogden, Utah. Jake grew up in Pleasant View and graduated from Weber High School. He attended Weber State University.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Ogden YSA 23rd Ward. Jake served an LDS Mission in Dallas Texas. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and the Savior. He had many fond memories as a youth growing up in the Pleasant View 6th Ward and was an Eagle Scout.

Jake had many talents. He was a wonderful artist and touched many lives through his artwork. He loved to read and enjoyed writing. He always made his family laugh in his own way through his quirky sense of humor.

He loved spending time in the outdoors and especially liked being outside in the rain. He had a tender heart and loved all those who surrounded him. He was a caring son and brother. He adored his niece and nephews.

Jake is survived by his parents, brothers, Brennen, Logan; Cameron, Logan; Bryce, Buenos Aires West Argentina LDS Mission; and Ty and Weston, Pleasant View; sisters, Ashlee (Casey) Johnson, Syracuse and Aubrey (Kaleb), Rexburg, ID; a niece and two nephews; and grandparents, Joseph Golden and Sharon Decker, Pleasant View and Reed and Beverly Mann, Roy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View 6th Ward, 900 West Pleasant View Dr. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
