James Hardie Burke

James Hardie Burke passed away on January 20, 2014 at the George E. Wahlen Veteran’s Home.  Jim was born on July 6, 1925 in Los Animas, Colorado.

He served his Country as a Sea Bee in the US Navy from 1942 to 1946 during WWII.

He worked for 34 years in the Finance Business.

Jim is survived by his wife, Gwen, Farr West; three children, Nancy (Jon) Hadlow, Layton; Pat (Doug) Ensign, Flower Mound, Texas; and Michael (Wendy) Burke, St. George; five stepchildren, Mitchel (Suzanne) Kocherhans, Bountiful; Kit (Bruce) Borrowman, Woods Cross; Kim (Kent) Parry, Bountiful; Fara (Doug) Nowak, Kaysville; and Jill (Dan) Clegg, Fruit Heights; 27 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and sister Louise Thomas, Manhattan Beach, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Norma Martin in September of 2013.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd where military honors will be accorded.   Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
