James Salvador Carroll
KAYSVILLE a" Santiago "James" Salvador Carroll, 97, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010. He was born in San Andres de-Giles, Argentina on November 9, 1912 to Maria Ward and Dionisio Carroll. He married Shirley May Moffatt in 1948. During WWII he volunteered with the British Army. He worked many years for the Blue Star Shipping Line.
James was a faithful member of the LDS Church where he had served as a bishop. He was currently a member of the Kaysville 15th Ward. He and his wife fulfilled a mission to Argentina. He volunteered at local elementary schools as an ESL tutor.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, son Dionisio (Lilian) Carroll, daughters Patricia (Mauricio) Carlini, and Sandra Carroll; sisters Brigida Ledwith, Isabella Downes; and grandchildren Veronica (Cesar) Cortez, Ricardo Ruben, Martin (Skye) Carroll, Diego (Staci) Carroll, Fernando (Tahira) Carroll, Marcos Carlini, Matias (Andrea) Carlini, Ivan (Amanda) Carroll, and Mauro Carlini. Preceded in death by his daughter Doreen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main. Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary prior to services.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
