James Coyle
January 27, 1947 ~ September 16, 2016
Jim was born January 27, 1947 in Seattle, Washington to Francis and Charlotte. He resided there with his family until he graduated high school, when he joined the US Marines (Semper Fidelis). Jim served two tours in Vietnam and received several medals, including a Purple Heart.
He went on to study history at Seattle University. After which he became a history teacher. He became interested in cars and body work, which led him to meet his best friend Annie. They later moved to Utah where they had one daughter, Charlotte.
Jim opened his own body shop, which he ran for over 25 years. He restored many classic cars and enjoyed car shows. He also loved racing with his daughter, and any other activities the two could do together. Jim also enjoyed spending time with and restoring cars with his friend Chris, whom he considered his son.
We will miss his visits, loving “to do” lists and wonderful stories.
Jim is preceded in death by parents Francis and Charlotte Coyle, and his brother Michael Coyle. Jim is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Coyle, ex-wife and caregiver, Annie Coyle, Chris (Amy) Kiernan, sisters; Melina McCombs, Mary (Rick) Kujava, Katherine (Kerry) Garberding, and brothers; Patrick Coyle, Jonathan Coyle, and granddaughter, Rylee Kiernan.
