James “Jim” Arthur Creamer
James “Jim” Arthur Creamer, 89, our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away quietly November 26, 2011 at his home.
Jim was born February 2, 1922 in Harrisville, Utah to Arthur James and Lillian Hinkley Creamer.
He married Cleone Judkins on June 20, 1942 in North Ogden and was the father of four children: Cheryl Ann Creamer, Robert (Sue) Creamer, Kathy (Roy) Tatton, and Darlene (Jody) Deamer. They have 22 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
An Army Veteran, Jim proudly served his Country during World War II. Following his honorable discharge, he worked at H.A.F.B. in Civil Engineering, retiring with 37 years of service.
Jim’s first loves were his family and home. With the help of his father-in-law, Hyrum Judkins, Jim and Cleone built their own comfortable brick home. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Everyone knew that Grandpa Creamer loved them. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and talking about the “good old days” with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Jim and Cleone loved to travel; they especially enjoyed their family camping trips each year to Yellowstone. In later years, they traveled across the United States doing family history research.
He was an avid gardener and took great pride in his fruit trees, raspberry bushes, and vegetable garden. His family enjoyed the canned fruit and vegetables from his hard work.
Jim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and supported his grandchildren as they served missions throughout the world.
Jim is survived by two siblings, Sandra Nuxell and Dan Creamer; and his four children. His parents; three siblings Valis, Trea Ann, and Ron “Pete” Creamer; one granddaughter; and dear wife preceded him in death.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday, December 4, 2011, from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a family memorial service from 2 to 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. A Military Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
The family thanks those who cared for Jim allowing him to stay in his home—his eldest daughter, Cheryl Ann; IHC Hospice Home Care; and Around the Clock Home Care.
