In loving memory of James Michael Devereaux (Mike).
James Michael Devereaux was born on January 30th 1959 to James Ulysses Devereaux and Annette Green Devereaux. Mike passed away on February 9th 2024.
Mike grew up in Centerville Utah and attended Bountiful Junior High School, Viewmont High School and an applied technical school for welding.
Mike was employed by Weir Minerals at the time of his death, where he was loved by his fellow employees and was referred to as Dirty Mike (anyone that knew him knows why). Mike enjoyed his interaction with all of them and would talk about them frequently.
He also loved all of his uncles, aunts and cousins and enjoyed going hunting, camping and hanging out with them on the farm in his youth and early adulthood.
Mike had a passion for cooking, especially for smoking and barbecuing. He was always watching YouTube videos to find new ways to cook food and perfect smoking meats. The taste of his smoked ribs, brisket and turkeys could be stacked up against the best of them, and often people would ask that he prepare something smoked or barbecued for them.
Mike will be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to speak to anyone at any time.
He lived and shared space with his mother where they could support each other through the good times and the bad. They had a motor home for a time in their lives where they would park at a camp site and go there to hang out on the weekends and just enjoy nature and life.
He was preceded in death by his father. Survived by his mother Annette, brother Randy (Melony), nephew Dax (Sam), niece Mykel, great niece Rooni and great nephew Ruxin. He was buried at the Centerville cemetery on 02/14/2024. In the end Mike would have lived his life the way he lived it, even if he would have won the million dollars he was always trying to win, with the exception that he would have had a lot more griddles, grills and some very choice meats. We love and miss you Mike.
