WASHINGTON TERRACE – It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, James “Jim” P. Donahoe. Jim was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 19, 1922, to James P. and Julia Cosgrove Donahoe. He joined the Iowa National Guard in 1939, and was called into Federal Service, February 1941. He was on the first contingent of U.S. Troops to go to Europe in January 1942. He served in the United Kingdom, North Africa, and Italy. He returned to the states in May 1944 and was assigned to the, then, U.S. Army Depot, “2nd Street.” On November 15, 1945, he married Jeanne Elizabeth Jordan in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Burlington, Iowa. They moved to Ogden, Utah in 1948 where he worked at and retired from Hill Air Force Base. Jim was a charter parish council member at Holy Family Catholic Church and served in many capacities over the years. Surviving are his children, Barbara Larsen; Dave Donahoe; Tim Donahoe; Dennis (Bobie) Donahoe; and Jill (Scott) Kingsford; 13 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren, sister, Jodi Donahoe and brother, Pat Donahoe. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeanne, and his brother Bob. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, where Holy Rosary will be recited prior to the Mass. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
