James Michael Doyle

September 8, 1941 — September 11, 2024

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, James Michael Doyle, age 83, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024 at 3:30 a.m. He was born on September 8, 1941 to Burke and Margie Doyle in Seattle, Washington.

Jim was a loving husband to Lema Doyle and a devoted father to Vila A’etonu, Jewel Fuchs, and Michael Doyle. He was a loyal brother to Dan Doyle and Tim Doyle. He was also a cherished grandfather to Silulu A’etonu-Grey, Vaimalu A’etonu, Felise A’etonu, Vaea A’etonu, Madison Fuchs, and Daniel Fuchs.

He spent the majority of his career working as an electrical engineer in the television industry in Oakland, California, and in the aviation industry here in Ogden, Utah. Both careers afforded him the opportunity to use his problem-solving skills as well as his ability to travel, connect, and communicate with people all over the world. His travels around the globe were epic adventures and many of us were able to witness these travels through the photos and postcards he would send us. Beyond his professional life he was known for his love of golf with Lema, fishing with his friend Allen (Jim was the champion of a fishing derby between his friends 3 years in a row and very proud of it), and relaxing while reading a good book.

Jim will be remembered for his devotion to family, his generosity to others, and his ability to see things as they were. He touched the lives of so many, maintained very close friendships, and lived a truly adventurous life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A simple quote that Jim tended to live by was, “All Things In Moderation.”

Per his wishes, Jim did not want an elaborate funeral. Services will include a graveside service on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.

A luncheon will be served on Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Community Center at Lindquist’s Office Building, 3434 Washington Blvd.

An open microphone will be available for anyone wishing to say a few words about Jim.
