James Jackson “JJ” Facer
January 27, 1986 ~ March 6, 2018
EDEN – James Jackson “JJ” Facer, 32, our fun-loving husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend passed away March 6, 2018, in a tragic accident leaving behind a large group of family and friends who love him dearly and will miss his sense of humor and adventure.
JJ was born January 27, 1986 in Ogden and was named James after his father and Jackson after the family’s love for Jackson Hole. He was fortunate enough to meet the love of his life, Darcy Jean Larrison, and they were married in June 2012. He grew up in Ogden Valley and was surrounded by a tight knit group of family and friends. He was known for his honesty, smile, and laugh. He had a nickname for everybody and was a good judge of character. His infectious personality constantly drew people to him.
His affinity for bike riding, boating, skiing, running and all things outdoors began early. At age 13, he set a record for the youngest rider to complete LOTOJA, a daylong amateur bike race from Logan, Utah, to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
JJ started his first business at age 9, JJ’s Outdoor Maintenance. His enthusiasm for life and clever sense of humor spilled over in his professional life where he crafted radio and TV commercials for ACME Advertising Agency working side-by-side with the parents he loved.
His favorite things were hiking in Jackson, riding his bike, being on his boat, and being home with Darcy working on projects around the house which included planting lots and lots of trees.
JJ is survived by his wife, Darcy; parents, James and Candis Facer of Huntsville; in-laws, John and Kay Larrison also of Huntsville; siblings, Jami (Travis) Cannefax of Logan and Juli Facer (Brett Scarbrough) of Layton; brother-in-law and friend, Matt Larrison (Sadie Rhoads) of North Ogden; nephews and niece, Jonah, Jake, Kaylee, and Lucas; plus the family cat, Magyver. Both Lucas and Magyver were the targets of most of JJ’s good-natured torment and affection.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1:45 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N.
