James F. Garrison

James F. Garrison, 82, passed away Saturday March 14, 2015.

He was born February 14, 1933 in Rochester, New York the son of William and Florence Garrison.

James was educated at Davis High School and Utah State University.   He served in the U.S. Army.

James married Leslie G. Harris on September 11, 1959.

He retired as an Engineer at Hill Air Force Base.

He enjoyed his hobbies.  When he was able, he liked to restore classic Mustangs and fish.  He visited Alaska a few times to catch salmon and enjoyed the trip with his son, Jeff.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed a wonderful hole-in-one at Davis Park with his son-in-law on the second hole.  In his later years, he enjoyed creating jewelry and tumbling rocks.  He always had something to keep him busy.  He was an avid reader as well.

Survived by his loving wife, Leslie H. Garrison; daughters, Kim (Jim) Peters, Lori Jensen, son, Jeff Garrison, grandchildren, Kaci (Mark) Guilford, Ashlee (Brian) Grace, Kelsey Jensen, Clair (Luke) Granquist, great-grandchildren, Tessa Granquist, Kale Guilford and niece, Deborah (Arthur) Cappell.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother William and son Bart James Garrison.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

The family wishes to give thanks to the hospice workers at Caregivers Support Network and the workers at Wasatch Kindred Care.  They provided very caring and loving service to him.
