James Alfred Hamilton, Sr.

James Alfred Hamilton, Sr., 75, passed away peaceful at home on Monday, April 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Warnemia Lena Hamilton. They shared 52 years of marriage together.
Born in Kingman, Arizona, he was the son of Ollie Fay DeRoboam and step-son of Earl Leon DeRoboam. He attended schools in Ogden, Utah and also attended Weber State Univerity. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 and after serving a four year tour, he left the service and married the love of his life, Warnemia Lena Hamilton.
He was later employed at Hill Air Force Base as a carpenter until retirement. After retirement, he worked at Young Chevrolet in the parts department. He made many friends throughout of his years of employment and enjoyed his work. He also volunteered for the Davis County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, along with his wife, and was a rescue scuba diver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golf, NASCAR, sports, particularly the Utah Jazz and enjoyed family time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
James is survived by his children, Roger (Amy) Roberts, Marlo (Mark) Allen, and James Hamilton, Jr., 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerald DeRoboam and Richard DeRoboam; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Warnemia Lena Hamilton; parents, Ollie and Earl DeRoboam; sister, Pamela McDonald; and brother, Earl DeRoboam, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
