James (Jim) Albert Hansen, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 28, 2023 in Layton, Utah. Born on March 23, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee, Jim touched the lives of those around him with his kind heart and generous nature. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jim's love for learning led him to pursue higher education at Weber State University. He cherished his time there and embraced the knowledge and experiences he gained during his studies.
He was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jim had an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for nature's beauty. He had a range of interests that included fishing, football, March Madness, horticulture, gold panning, rock hounding, and holidays spent with cherished family members. Whether he was casting a line into a tranquil river or cheering on his favorite team from the sidelines, Jim found happiness in these moments and inspired those around him to embrace life's simple pleasures.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Mickey Hansen; their sons Dale (Jennifer) Lowder, Dave Lowder, Craig Lowder; Crystal (Jeremy) Brown; as well as his mother Theresa Ekins; brother Milton (Nola) Hansen and sisters: LaVonne (Allen) Meyer; Janis Rupp; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jim's dedication to his family was unwavering, and his nurturing presence will forever be missed.
He was preceded in death by his father Boyd Curtis Hansen.
The loss of Jim leaves an unimaginable void in the hearts of his family and friends. As we gather to celebrate Jim's life, let us remember him for his unwavering faith, his adventurous spirit, and his love for family. May his legacy live on in our hearts forever.
There will be a Celebration of Life held Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the 17th Ward Stake Center 1290 N. Church Street, Layton, Utah.
