James Katsilas

JAMES ALLEN KATSILAS

1928-2015

James Allen Katsilas passed away on November 28, 2015 surrounded by his family.  He was born April 2, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George A. and Myrtle Hutchings Katsilas.  He married Maxine McNabb, the love of his life, and they had fifty wonderful years together.

He worked for Western/Delta Airlines for over 40 years.  He loved to fly!  After retiring from Delta he was best known for greeting and hugging Jazz fans at the Delta Center’s northwest door.  He was a member of the QB’s and looked forward to his monthly meetings.

He is survived by his children: Darrick (Julie), Debbie Hunwick, Dave (Michele), Daron (Kimberly), Christy Cufley; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother George (Bud). Preceded in death by his wife, and sister.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2nd  at Saint Olaf Catholic Church, 1800 S. Orchard Dr. Bountiful.  Friends may visit on Tuesday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E.
