James Hasler Kunz, 90, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 2, 2023. James was born on November 14, 1932 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Rudolph and Elizabeth Hasler Kunz. He grew up in Ogden and attended Ogden City Schools, graduating from Ogden High School, Class of 1950.
He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.
James married Eva Mae Brown on January 6, 1955. Eva passed away on June 2, 2014. He found love again and married Loraine Johnson on January 22, 2017 in Ogden, Utah.
James enjoyed his jobs as a salesman over the years, but he mostly enjoyed his time as a school bus driver and crossing guard.
James is survived by his wife, Loraine; daughter, Jill Celli of Hooper; son, Brian J. Kunz of Roy; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and brother, Gene Kunz of Ogden. Preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mae; daughter, Paula Duvall; parents; two brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch 1718 Combe Rd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
