James F. Leslie RIVERDALE – Our beloved husband and father, James “Jimmy” Franklin Leslie, passed away quietly in his sleep to return to his Father in Heaven on Tuesday, October 13, 2009. James was born September 13, 1932 in Cannonville, Utah, to Harry L. and Hilda Dutton Leslie. He married Jean Campbell in 1963. Jean preceded him in death in 1992. He married Marge Field and she died in 1998. He married Edith Faye Homer on September 13, 2000. Jim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served proudly as a Home Teacher in the Riverdale 4th Ward with his partner, Rodger. He loved visiting his assigned families and they enjoyed their visits. He served his country with his U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict where he was wounded and received a medical discharge. He worked as a maintenance foreman and city supervisor for the City of Washington Terrace for 26 years. Jimmy loved fishing and spent many happy days with his family doing just that. He could sit for hours and tell all kinds of fishing adventures. Surviving are his wife, Faye, of Evanston, WY; his sons, James (Christine) Leslie, Ogden; Bart Leslie, Bountiful; David Allen Nielson, Rexburg, ID; Kevin Ray Nielson, Wasilla, AK; daughters, Kathy Furniss, Ogden; Linda Prisk, Taylor; Vickie Harter, Payson; Catherine Joenks, Iowa; Barbara Cole, and Deborah Hollis, both of Evanston, WY; three sisters, Barbara (Francis) Imlay, Escalante, UT; Elnora Prat, Reno, NV; Hilda (Duane) Adcock, New Mexico; one brother, Kenneth Leslie, Panguitch, UT; and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Willard and Butch, and sister, Hazel Hermiston. Jimmy will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Riverdale 4th Ward Chapel, 5500 South 1175 West. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the Ward Chapel 1 to 1:45 p.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. “Gone Fishing – See Ya”.
