James Robert “Bob” Magee
December 30, 1941 ~ July 22, 2017
James Robert “Bob” Magee, passed away at his home on July 22, 2017. He was born on December 30, 1941 in Twin Falls, ID, to his parents, George "Paul” and Catherine Magee. He graduated from Twin Falls High School. He then enlisted in the Army in 1960 where he served until being honorably discharged in 1966.
He settled in Utah and became a photographer / reporter for the Standard Examiner. He held a variety of mechanical jobs and eventually retired from Kimberly-Clark.
Bob married Pauline and became a father to her two children: Curtis Eggleston and Celesta Fergason. Together they had one son, Todd Magee. They later divorced.
Bob loved traveling to Mexico and skiing. He then met the love of his life, Nancy at their work at Kimberly-Clark. They were soon married and he became a father again to Nancy’s two children, Michelle Barros and Michael Aldo Stoker. Together they have cared for and raised three grandsons: Michael, Dominick, and Christopher Stoker.
Bob was very patient with the kids as he taught them his love of fishing. His grandkids remember some fun camping trips with grandpa.
Bob enjoyed golfing and made exceptional custom golf clubs.
The greatest thing about Bob was his big heart.
Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy Magee, his five children and their spouses, his six grandchildren, and his five brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Fredrick and Catherine Magee; his sister, Sarah Ann “Sally” Magee; his brother, Mike Magee; his son-in-law, Jimmy Barros; and his daughter-in-law, Candi Stoker.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 4 p.m. at the Burch Creek LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 4955 Adams Ave, South Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the church.
The family would like to thank nurses at Encompass Hospice for their excellent care of Bob and his family. Also a special thanks to the members of the Burch Creek 5th Ward for their generosity, help, and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial fund at Golden West Credit Union.
