James Howard Marshall
ROY a" James Howard Marshall, 74, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 5, 1934 in Hagerstown, Maryland the son of Walter E. and Nora Churchy Marshall.
James married Nancy L. Collins on July 10, 1955 in Hamilton Field, California.
After 23 years of service James retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Tsgt, a veteran of both Korean and Vietnam Wars. He then retired from Hill Air Force Base after 19 years of civil service.
He enjoyed fishing, auto mechanics, billiards, politics, historical military literature, the New York Yankees and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Surviving are his wife Nancy L. Marshall, two sons, James H. Marshall, Charles W. (Erika) Marshall, three daughters, Elizabeth (Joe) Rivera, Nancy (John) Murphy, Robin (Eric) Helton, daughter-in-law, Kim Marshall, 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one brother, John Marshall.
Preceded in death by his parents, beloved son Matthew D. Marshall, and 14 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 22, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road where military honors will be accorded by the Hill Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family would like to extend gratitude to Dr. Jay Yates and his staff for their exceptional care and also LifePath Hospice.
