KAYSVILLE a€" James Edison Miller, 96, returned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. He was born June 25, 1914 in Rocky Point, Mississippi. Son of Toliver Mcaffe Miller and Collie Beatrice Armstrong.

He was educated in Mississippi and graduated from Carmack Consolidated High School in 1933.

He enlisted in the Army in 1943 and proudly served his country as a corporal in the European Theatre during World War II, serving in the 8th Air Force, 9th Air Force and Troop Carrier Command. He served in Normandy, Southern France, Holland, Rhine River and the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged at Kearns, Utah and Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 17, 1945.

He worked at the Naval Supply Depot and Hill Air Force Base. He also worked for Ogden City- Weber County at the Municipal Building. He was a member of the Ogden Eagles and a 60 year member of Post 87 American Legion in Layton.

He married LaMar Lythgoe of Kaysville in Winona, Mississippi on May 25, 1946. He has lived in Utah since 1946. In Kaysville since 1951 where they made their home. They enjoyed taking long scenic drives together throughout Utah.

Surviving are his children: one daughter Kaye Kizerian, Bountiful; three sons, Boyd (Dora) Lythgoe, Sandy, James (Holly) Miller, Reno, Nevada; Bobbie (Linda) Miller, Layton; 13 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, and one sister Betty Bever, Pahrump, Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, LaMar, his parents and 13 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Rock Chapel, 25 So. 200 E. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.

His family would like to thank his many friends at Granny Annies in Kaysville where he ate breakfast for years. They would also like to thank his friends at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield and the Drs. and nurses at Davis Hospital ICU.
