JAMES FRANKLIN PATTERSON
On Wednesday, October 21, the world lost a great coach and teacher when James Franklin Patterson passed away. Jim was born on July 20, 1935 in Aurora, IL to Carl and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Patterson. On September 11, 1959 he married the love of his life, Ava Janice Hellyer. Their marriage was solemnized in 1971 in the Idaho Falls Temple with their children. Jim knew he was nothing without his bride, Janice, who he adored and loved. They were grateful they were able to spend their 50 year anniversary together last month surrounded by friends and family.
He was a very active and devoted church member, serving in the Manti and Denver Temples.
Jim was welcomed back home by those who preceded him in death, including his parents; his daughters Joni and Jamai, and two sisters; Geraldine Patterson, and Nancy Lipka. He is survived by his bride Janice and 5 children; Rocky Patterson of Brush, CO., Jerry (Julie) Patterson of Cedar Hills, UT., Jeff (Debbie) Patterson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Janelle (Tyson) Williams of Minot, ND., Melanie (Kelly) Harris of Idaho Falls, ID. He has 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Pat Neu and Dianna Schramek. We will miss you Jim, Love you and yours.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Woods Cross Stake Center, 2064 S. 800 W. where friends and family may call 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services. Interment Manti Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Funeral under the direction of Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary.
