James William Redford Jr.
1929-2013
Our beloved Father, Grandfather and Brother passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the age of 84 in Layton, UT.
Jim was born June 28, 1929 to Marie Helen Larsen and James William Redford Sr. in Talmage, UT. He attended and graduated from Wasatch High School. Jim married Lillian Schmidt on April 14, 1950 in the LDS Salt Lake Temple in SLC, UT. They met in Midway, UT at a Swiss Days dance. They lived in Utah their whole lives, his last 41 years in Layton, UT. He loved fishing with family and friends, loved building homes (which he did for a living for over 35 years), loved music and long scenic drives, and most of all loved his large family consisting of 2 brothers and 8 sisters, 5 sons and 6 daughters, 29 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren with 3 great-grandchildren on the way.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Marie and James Redford, one sister Helen Arementa, one son Michael Redford, two daughters Patricia Redford and Karen Muir, and one grandson Justin Redford.
He is survived by his sons Gary (Marsha) Redford, Steven (Jaylene) Redford, Darrell (Cathy) Redford, Don (Wendy) Redford and daughters Sharlene Redford, Victoria Falslev, Tammy (Bob) McGrath, and Kristine (Cameron) Parker. Also surviving are son-in-law Russell (Karen, deceased) Muir, 28 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
