James Joseph Reiher, Jr.

James Joseph Reiher, Jr., 81, passed away at home on Sunday, March 25, 2018. He was born on December 24, 1936 in Newark, NJ.

James was first married to Marcia Joan Leeds.  He was later married to Nancy J. “Julie” Martin, until her death in 2012.

James left three children: Stephen A. Reiher, Tracy V. Proctor (Matt), and Wendy N. Williams.  He also left two step-children: Carlyle Martin and Eslyn Thomas. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Reiher (Bobbie) and sister, Donna Forst (Don).  James also left seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

James worked in the commercial insurance business for most of his career.

James’ main interest was sports, particularly his Notre Dame Fighting Irish, New York Yankees and Utah Jazz.  He also had a soft spot for animals; his home was a haven for numerous dogs, cats, and even a parrot over the years. Most of all, he loved his kids and grandkids and their families, rarely missing a birthday with both a card and phone call.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Entombment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
