James (Jim) Alan Schane
Salt Lake City a" James (Jim) Alan Schane, age 44, died August 31, 2007 in Salt Lake City. He was born on September 27, 1962 to George and Patricia Schane in Chicago, IL, but was raised in Los Angeles, CA. He was the younger of two boys and the brother of Donald Schane of Portland, OR.
He married Monica Sandoval of San Bernardino, CA on March 5, 1985 and remained happily married for the duration of his life. Jim served 24 dedicated years to the USAF, serving in Okinawa, Japan; Norton AFB, CA; Loring AFB, ME; Offutt AFB, NE; Travis AFB, CA; Hill AFB, UT where he retired as a MSgt. He found serenity in skiing, traveling, running, being home at the beach in southern California, and spending time with the ones he loved, both family and friends. He led the most unselfish life, having always put the needs and wants of his family before his own. On February 18, 2005 he was diagnosed with colon cancer and, despite his determination and passion for life, he lost the battle after two and a half hard-fought years. He is now reunited with his mother as an angel in Heaven.
He is survived by wife, Monica; father, George; brother, Don; and children: Christopher (22), Jason (21) and Jacquelyn (19).
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to Dr. Ward and his staff at Huntsman Cancer Institute and that of Dr. Holbrook of Spokane, WA.
