SOUTH OGDEN - James Clark Sproul, age 47, was called home Sunday, August 15, 2010 after a valiant battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He fought with courage and tenacity right to the end for the sake of his family, which was the center of his life. He was born August 23, 1962 in Reseda, California to Evan and Carma Cameron Sproul.

He married Suzanne Hauze on August 15, 1986 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have four children; Brendan James, 22, Spencer William, 17, Sarah Elizabeth, 14 and Nathan Robert, 12. Along with his sweetheart, these were the most important people in the world to Jim. He gave 100 percent of himself as a husband and father and cherished every moment he spent with his family. Jim had a great love for his country. As full time Command Sergeant Major of the 300th Military Intelligence Brigade of the Utah Army National Guard, he served with pride and commitment. He dearly loved the men he served and enjoyed his association with them. Jim himself was a veteran of Desert Storm. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the youth and served diligently in the scouting and youth programs of the church. He was not one who criticized or judged, so he was loved universally by all who knew him. Jim knew and loved his Savior with humility and without public demonstration. His mission to Taiwan not only gave him the language he used throughout his military career, but re-enforced the principles and teachings of his parents, to love and serve his fellow men and his Heavenly Father. He was an example to all with whom he came in contact with and was immediately loved. Jim had the voice of an angel and with his song he brought the Spirit of peace and joy. He and Suzanne loved to sing together and their voices matched the love and connection they shared. He is survived by his wife and children, his brothers and sister, Evan (Linda), Robert (Susan), Nedra, and Don (Jayne), many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, who loved him deeply and will miss his presence in the family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the Burch Creek Stake Center at 4955 South Adams Ave., South Ogden.

Family will visit with friends at the Stake Center on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the services.

Graveside services and interment will be held Friday, August 20 at 9:30 a.m. at the Washington City Cemetery, Washington, UT. The family wishes to thank the wonderful Bone Marrow staff and ICU staff at LDS hospital for their care and love for Jim.
