James Daniel Torghele
December 19, 1945 ~ February 10, 2019
James Daniel Torghele, age 73, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away February 10, 2019 following complications from cancer treatment. Jim was born December 19, 1945 to Dan and Emma Branz Torghele in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School, Weber State University, and Washington University Dental School in St. Louis. He married the woman of his dreams, Charlotte Clay in 1967. They spent 51 memorable years together.
Jim enjoyed practicing dentistry for 34 years and appreciated working with his brother and son. He was known for making his patients laugh and smile.
Jim loved time with family, especially their Bear Lake cabin, fishing, hunting, snow-shoeing, hiking, boating, and most of all story telling. He valued spending time with his Model A friends and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his children, Cheryl (Adam) Eresuma of Salt Lake City, and Jeff (Shelice) Torghele of Ogden; four grandchildren, McKynlee, Addie, Emmie and Mazie. He is also survived by his sisters, Anita (Jack) Rowse and Jan (Wendell) Green, and brother, Bob (Collette) Torghele. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Emma Torghele and his grandson, Ty Torghele.
Jim will be remembered for his infectious smile and his gift of being able to laugh at himself as well as the world. All of the lives he touched will be diminished by his loss.
A celebration of Jim’s life with light refreshments will be held on March 15, 2019 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Comfort Suites, 2250 South 1200 West in Ogden.
